All three replacement filters from FiltersFast exhibit difficulties. Poor water flow and squeal from inside the fridge. Replaced new filter with old one and all is fine. New filters are distinct on the insert - old ones had one significant hole with various tiny holes about it. New ones have one particular sizeable hole and two slotted holes on each side. All three new ones are lousy. Takes 45-60 seconds to fill a normal 8oz glass. Not acceptable. Named GE directly who mentioned no adjust has been created to product line. Bought two extra in town, 1 from Sears, an additional from HH Gregg. Each have the exact same design as the new ones from FiltersFast and are also lousy.

I live in the Tucson, AZ location and our water is particularly difficult. I test my water on a regular basis out of the tap and it shows 240. I test the water out of my R/O technique and it tests at 22. The water coming out of my ref with the GE filter which comes from the R/ method is 20. I have the cleanest water in our neighborhood. The only concern I had was the GE filter took a couple of months to get back to "typical" testing range. When I fist installed it, the water tested at 40. Now that it is back to "normal" I am pleased. Also the install was simple - reading the hassle-free directions took longer that the install. You just twist off the old a single and twist on the new one and then run about 5 gallons by means of the system.
